2 points on the road is 2 points on the road. Build off of it. A fine game by 23 as well which we have not seen that often.

Good writeup JJ.

Wonderful performance again by the PP last night wasn't it?

Good game and it was great to see Hossa get some points. Congrats to him on a great career so far.

My only complaint is the powerplay. As other posters have been saying, we need to shake that up. I saw too many guys standing around and not enough movement.

Good for Hossa. Helluva Player. And to do it against the Senatards

He deserves a break, should sit him against the Big Bad Leafs.

Spot on JJ. Hoss is a special player and I see him still being able to contribute for a quite a few more years - ala Jagr like.

I have to take this opportunity to re-raise the point that Gramps needs to be in the Hall of Fame. One of only 80 players to tally 1000 points in the NHL, and he is started 884 consecutive games for the Hawks, which I believe is the best for one team, and third all in.

Actually, right here on HockeyBuzz there have been plenty of discussions on this topic, and there are many who have challenged it. In fact, outside of Blackhawks fans, I would say there is a majority, or at least a healthy plurality, of challenges to to the notion of his nomination.

Hossa is one of the most underrated players of his time. HoF caliber player in my mind.

You are correct.

I listened to the Ottawa pre-game show on TSN radio last night and the opinion was split between 4 press guys. Alot of them see Hoss as a very complimentary piece to superstars on very good teams ready to win or challenge for a championship.

He will get in IMO - 1000+ games, 1000+ points and 2 Cup rings, good enough for me.

And how could they keep him out when players like Geraldine Heaney, Dino Ciccarelli, Bernie Federko, Adam Oates, Alan Stanley and Luc Robitaille are in there.

Don't expect it to change Rick.
It's Q's doing and Dineen alluded to that fact when interviewed a while ago.

Any of us thinking that Dineen (or anyone else for that matter -- Barry Smith?!!!) would have input to change things is smoking some good stuff.

How much easier can they make it to defend?
1st you put your most dynamic players along the wall -- almost all of them except for 1 and then you send long-distance passes after one of those players stickhandles incessantly, as if the stickhandling is going to fool anyone and draw them out of their D alignment to open up a spot. Oh gee, and if a spot did open, is there anyone actually moving to open ice? Nope.

That, along with Duncan Keith as your point man -- who has a pea shooter for a shot IF he can get a shot through to the net and IF he actually decides to shoot instead of playing around with the puck or sending ANOTHER long distance pass to nowhere.

Yikes.

I just don't see this changing.
Note, too, how playing a bit better game up-front during 5v5 caused them to NOT play a very good game in their own zone.

Ya the PP was not good again , on the OT PP It really looked like the HAWKS players were determined to have Hossa score the winner . And that would have been great , but not at the expense of a point . Oh well seems to me like the boy's are very confident in there ability to win when need be

JJ, are you still really high on Kruger? He plays a great defensive game and can kill penalities with aplomb but at this stage in his career, wouldn't you expect a little bit more offensive growth or output?

Like I posted last night - the team has 2 centers and neither one of them are named Richards or Shaw.

I watched the game on TSN last night. At the end on the 4 on 3 PP in OT that ended the game, the camera immediately shot to Q and it picked up him saying "F$ck me' with a distressed look on his face.

On a lighter note of interesting and useless information - Kevin Dineen's nickname is "Guido". Apparently picked up when Q and him got lost driving around Hartford in a bad part of town. They stopped and asked a large black man for directions and the guy said to Dineen "sure Guido, where you looking to go"? True story.

Shaw out of the top 6 and back at 3rd line wing where he belongs...

Richards up at 2C and let him figure it out and get it going...

Stop with Sharp/Richards on the point....

Somebody light a fire under Kane; he looks bored and lazy

Retire Rosy....

Stick Bicks in drawer until 4/15 and get rid of him over the summer....tired of the same tune yr after yr

You could keep going worse than Shaw has been Saad overall.
Maybe Richards can play with Kane but I wouldn't hold your breath.
Q is stuck with Roszy for now but he doesn't like what he sees. If Rozsival can't kill penalties he shouldn't dress.
Sloppy game, worse effort of the year.
That said the Leafs could be in line for a real pounding tomorrow night.

It will be good to get Crow back , team seems to play more discipline in front of him .Maybe the guy's are trying to do much when the young guys are in net . HAWKS battle through some poor hockey last night and got the 2 Pts , that's all that matters ..A little adversity early may be a good thing ..

Be better off putting Rozsival at right wing to play with Richards and bring back Brunette to play the left side.

Its probably political but I don't know how much longer Q can tolerate watching that dead from the ass up Richards playthe game. It isn't learning a new system. It's more the fact that he is total incompatible with this team and therefore useless.

Maybe. One would think that a guy with his track record could adjust and be serviceable. Otherwise, I'd like to see people coming up with solutions instead of just complaining.
